Tai Verdes: Reminding Us To Keep Our Heads and Spirits Up

You know those songs that just bring a smile to your face? The songs that fill your soul in a way you could never imagine? Well, they come from talented artists and Tai Verdes is definitely one of them. Turning to music through the good and bad times his whole life, the artist found his passion in creating and writing. Ok, at first it took a few attempts but just like any other talented individual, he never gave up until he found what he believed was his best. From the “trash songs” came good ones which just goes to remind us all that life can be trial and error, you just have to keep staying positive! Having released an album that illustrates his own personal diary, there is much more of Tai Verdes to come and we can’t wait!

Growing up, what role did music play in your life? Do you recall a particular story in which music saved you?

I’ve been listening to music all my life, but I specifically remember listening to music every day when I hated being at college. Some of my favorite songs of all time are the ones that I just ran the doors off of when I was sad. Those songs are scarred in my brain.

What kind of relationship did your family have with music? Do you remember a particular genre you would listen to with them?

I listened to every genre of music with them. Some of my favorite music is Christmas music.  I even listen to Christmas music in the dead of July, but having my family around and listening to those types of songs was just so fun.

Share with us what prompted you to get into music. Why did you want to turn this into a career?

I just like to try things.  I had already played piano for 13 years and also guitar and ukulele, so making music was the next step.

What was the first song you ever wrote? How has your music evolved since then?

Yeah, so, my first songs were definitely trash, I can’t even remember the names of them. But I do know that sometimes you need to write trash songs to get to the ones that aren’t so trash.

Tell us about a time you had to face a fear and what the outcome was. How did you push through it? How do you usually get through tough times in life?

I just choose to be positive and to stay light and independent. I don’t have a lot of material things, I can fit everything in a couple of bags. I wasn’t afraid to sleep in a living room for 4 years, I already did that, it wasn’t so bad.  Some people have it way worse so I always try to keep a fresh perspective.

Do you believe you have found your purpose yet? If so, what is it? If not, what do you hope to accomplish in your life?

I think I just need to be working towards happiness.  Finding it in small places, familiar places, or unfamiliar places.  Tough shit happens to everyone.  Being positive through the tough shit is something I can control every day.

Who is someone you aspire to be? If you could have a sit down with anyone (Dead or alive), who would you pick and why?

I aspire to be someone who is happy, but I will say, I would love to talk to Obama. That man has definitely got to have some stories. Oh, and Donald Glover.

Do you have any hidden skills/hobbies people don’t know about?

I’m learning and doing yoga. That shit is hard!

Share with us what your latest album meant to you. You say it sums up the last 4 years of your life, but can you elaborate more on that?

It was a diary for me that I can always look back on.  The coolest time capsule that you can fucking imagine.

What comes next?

Dope. Ass. Shit.
