Biohacking, But Make It Beautiful: My Journey with Wellness Tech That Actually Works

April 22, 2024 Letizia Silvestri
Wellness by Letizia Silvestri

Once reserved for tech entrepreneurs and extreme athletes, biohacking has evolved into something softer, more sensual, and increasingly feminine. While the concept—optimizing your biology through science and self-awareness—can still lean clinical, there’s now space for rhythm, ritual, and restoration.

Coined and popularized by Dave Asprey, biohacking initially centered around performance—pushing the body to do more. But in my experience, the most elegant form of hacking is not about doing more… it’s about doing better. More attuned. More supported. More aware.

Here are the wellness tech tools that have gently woven themselves into my world—not as a way to fix what’s broken, but as allies in remembering that the body already knows how to heal.

1. The HigherDOSE PEMF Mat: My Nervous System’s Favorite Place

Every day—especially after long travel days or client sessions—I find myself returning to my HigherDOSE PEMF mat. It combines infrared heat and pulsed electromagnetic frequencies, creating a subtle yet powerful environment for deep rest and recalibration.

I often pair it with breathwork or oil massage. It’s my way of saying to my body: You’re safe. You can let go.

2. Cryotherapy + NAD+ Drip at Next Health: The Sharp Reset

I’ll admit it: cryotherapy is intense. But it works. Stepping into -150°F air for a few minutes sharpens my mind, calms inflammation, and helps me reset when I’m running on too much adrenaline.

At Next Health, I pair it with a NAD+ drip—a favorite for supporting mitochondrial function and cognitive clarity. Especially during weeks when I’m giving a lot, this duo gives back.

3. Theragun: More Than Muscle Recovery

Most people think of the Theragun by Therabody for post-workout recovery. I use it differently.

  • On my legs, I stimulate the meridian point Stomach 36, an acupoint known to support digestion and energy flow.
  • On my feet, I use it to activate meridian points, especially after flights or during grounding rituals.
  • And yes, on my shoulders and neck—when I need to soften out the day.

It’s not just about muscles. It’s about meridians. About flow.

4. Solawave Wand: Ritual Disguised as Skincare

Compact, intuitive, and surprisingly powerful—the Solawave wand became part of my nightly wind-down last year. Its fusion of microcurrent, red light, and gentle vibration makes it effective for skincare, but what I truly love is the pause it creates.

It’s five minutes of slow, mindful touch. And that’s often more healing than the wand itself.

5. HigherDOSE Infrared Sauna Blanket: A Detox Essential

During my heavy metal detox, this became my sanctuary.

The infrared sauna blanket by HigherDOSE helped me sweat out stagnation—physical, energetic, emotional. It’s grounding, purifying, and easy to use. On days I couldn’t make it to a spa, I’d wrap myself up, drop in, and emerge feeling like I had cleared more than just toxins.

It’s now a non-negotiable in my home toolkit.

6. Timeline Cryo Recovery Spoon: Instant De-Puff, Deep Calm

Sleek and minimal, the Timeline Cryo Recovery Spoon has earned a permanent spot in my skincare drawer. I keep it chilled and glide it across my face in the mornings or after travel—it soothes inflammation, calms the nervous system, and instantly lifts puffiness.

But more than anything, it feels like a ritual. A moment of cool clarity before the day begins.

7. Healy: Frequency Support During Vertigo

When I was navigating a period of severe vertigo, the Healy device became an unexpected support.

This palm-sized frequency device reads your energetic field and delivers microcurrents customized to your body’s current needs. Whether for nervous system balance, chakra support, or physical pain—it offered relief in moments when nothing else did.

It reminded me that energy medicine has a place in the modern wellness conversation—when used with discernment and care.

Final Truth: The Body Already Knows

These tools are not magic. They are not a replacement for rest, intuition, or nourishment.

But they can be beautiful bridges—between what you feel and what your body needs. They offer support, not solutions. Clarity, not control. And when chosen wisely, they can amplify your healing… without ever overriding it.

Because the most powerful technology is still your own body.
