Annual Drag Spectacle Raised Critical Funds for APLA Health’s Housing and HIV Services

Los Angeles, California – Earlier this month on October 5th, one of Los Angeles’ most anticipated and outrageous events,Best in Drag Show crowned their newest pageant star, Bailey Barnum, led by an all-star cast of celebrities judges that included 2025 Emmy winner Katherine LaNasa, comedian Cheri Oteri, Emmy Award winner Dan Bucatinsky, actor Grant Show, actress Judy Greer, Emmy winner Camryn Manheim, comedian Kathy Kinney, and Marc Malkin from Variety. 

With a glittering “pink carpet” hosting arrivals, followed by a showgirls opening number and mission statement reading by Judy Greer, attendees were dazzled by the high-octane comedic performances, theatrical flair, and irreverent humor of Kay Sedia, and an electrifying number by RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Salina EsTitties. Best in Drag Show founder and longtime host of the festivities, Patrick Rush, emceed as contestants pushed the boundaries of drag artistry with their raucously inventive costumes, dramatic entrances, and jaw-dropping acts. In existence for over 30 years, this annual fundraising event delivered an evening of pure spectacle and unapologetic creativity for everyone in attendance.

Produced by a dedicated team of volunteers, Best in Drag Show exists to raise necessary funds and support the Alliance for Housing & Healing, a program of APLA Health, providing essential services and housing for people living with HIV across Los Angeles County. The show has evolved from its humble beginnings in a West Hollywood living room into one of the city’s most beloved and enduring events, attracting attendees from all walks of life who come together to celebrate community, resilience, and the transformative power of drag.
