Where Style Meets Comfort, It’s Neutral By Narbeh
Narbeh has always had a go-getter attitude, a passionate outlook on life, and a smile that can light up a whole room. His brand “Neutral By Narbeh,” stems from someone who was once a young boy that was told he could not accomplish many things in life… so he went for the impossible. No matter the obstacles he had to face, Narbeh never gave up and is beyond excited to share his brand with us. There is a lot in store for the brands this year so keep an eye out!
Tell us more about your story prior to launching your brand. What inspired you?
I have always been such a go-getter. Every time I had a goal, I was always on top of it to make sure it was achieved to the best of my abilities. Of course, like so many others, I have succeeded but also failed many times. I have always had a super big personality. I won ‘Most Social’ in the yearbook in high school and middle school. I was inspired by my failures and by all the people who doubted me. Growing up I was told I wouldn’t be able to do a lot of things, even some things I’m currently accomplishing right now. I was inspired by myself, because I knew I could do the “impossible”.
What are some obstacles you faced and how did you overcome them?
Obstacles, failures & barriers are bound to happen. For example, starting social media at a young age, it was difficult to be confident and not feed into hateful comments about myself. Growing up on social media can be tough, because two years may feel like seven. I would overcome these by never letting go of the purpose behind it all, which is “what’s meant to be will be.” I believe if you stay true to yourself, you will blossom.
In creating this brand, what would you say is your/its main purpose?
I love this question! My whole purpose was to make people feel comfortable and brand new. “Comfort” is a given for any business owner, but in terms of “Brand New” I want people to be able to feel beautiful in their BRAND NEW Neutral By Narbeh clothing. When it’s time to choose an outfit, it’s an easy “Oh! I have a brand new sweatsuit from Neutral By Narbeh it’ll be perfect for tonight.” Also, butterflies are a symbol of new beginnings, which is truly what I strive for.
How do you hope your customers feel when purchasing a piece?
I want my customers to feel confident. I want them to know we are here to take care of them and any issues that they may face. I want them to have the best experience when purchasing from me. Confidence is key in everything, especially for my customers!
Share with us what fashion means to you.
Fashion has always held a special place in my heart. The joy of getting ready, putting looks together, and just feeling beautiful within your clothing is beyond me. You don’t always have to have the most expensive t-shirt or designer shoes. “Fashion” is a different definition for everybody and that’s the beauty behind it.
Growing up, what was your childhood like?
I grew up with divorced parents. I never really had that “homey” feeling. No family dinners, no family vacations, however, my parents are the hardest workers I know and the best co-parents ever. Growing up they made me feel loved and appreciated. They have definitely made my childhood one to remember.
If you could time travel to any era, which would you pick and why?
I would love to travel to the early 2000’s. Kim K and Paris Hilton era. The time where Real World was so popular on MTV! I can just see myself with a flip phone in a brand new mercedes rolling down LA playing Lil Kim! Being 18-20 during 2002-2005 would be super cool for me!
How has your own style evolved over the years?
Omg, I’m laughing thinking of this. I used to be the biggest Abercrombie fanatic!!!!! I’m sure everybody has. I was for sure hopping on every trend. Champion, Abercrombie, Hollister, and etc. I for sure now love Neutral Colors. Super simple, but super super comfortable. A cute set suit with some yeezys is like an A+ for me in fashion! It’s crazy to think about the things I used to wear!
Who inspires you the most in life?
My family definitely inspires me the most. They’re the hardest working people I know. They have shown me many rights from wrongs and I’m forever thankful for that. Khloé Kardashian is also a huge inspiration. She has for sure been a symbol of strength and hard work for me.
