Dani Oliveros on Fearlessness, Icons & Authenticity
With a presence that feels equal parts bold and effortless, Dani Oliveros is quickly carving out a space in Young Hollywood where fashion and storytelling collide. Whether on set or off-duty, Dani’s style speaks volumes: fearless, playful, and always authentic. In this exclusive feature, Dani opens up about the risks worth taking, the icons that inspire her, and the fashion choices that make her feel most like herself.
If your first big Hollywood moment were an outfit, what would it look like and why?
I think if my first big Hollywood moment were an outfit, the Balmain FW18 look worn by Blanca Padilla would best encapsulate that moment—it’s got so much personality, ready for whatever vibe, and is so sexy!

Being part of this new wave of talent, how do you think your generation is reshaping both film and fashion?
I think my generation is reshaping both film and fashion by telling new and diverse stories that haven’t previously been shared or shown in representation. It’s opening the doors for new stories to be shared across all platforms and media. I also think with it being such a difficult time to break into the industry, more people are creating their own stories out of pure passion and creativity, and that’s been a driving force in this new wave.
When preparing for a role, do you ever imagine what your character would wear, and does that help you step into their world?
I definitely think about things my characters would wear, and I’m a very hands-on person in that aspect so I love to chat with the costume designers as soon as I’m able to. I think coming from a modeling background, wardrobe largely helps me lean into a feeling, and I like there to be a clear differentiation between my own wardrobe and whatever character I’m stepping into.
Everyone has a “go-to” piece. What’s the item in your wardrobe that always makes you feel most like yourself?
I think my “go-to” piece is a little floral corset top I have. I love flowers and I feel like if you’re meeting me for the first time, that’s a good piece to represent me.

You’ve probably taken creative risks on screen, what about style? What’s the boldest fashion move you’ve made and how did it feel?
All of my early carpets I styled myself and did my own hair and makeup, so I’d say there was a lot of play with those and I have definitely gotten much better over time. I feel like there was a lot of catching up to do in those areas, and it was very foreign at first.
Who are your fashion icons—on screen or off—that you secretly (or not so secretly) channel when you’re getting dressed?
Zendaya, of course. At this point I think she’s done every look possible and I love seeing the creativity she always brings. I also adore Bruna Marquezine and how beautiful her looks are, as well as Anna Sawai and her elegance.

When you’re off set and away from the spotlight, what’s your real-life “uniform”?
I’m a comfort girlie. I dress in whatever is easiest, usually some kind of baby tee or tank top and jorts.
If your life and career were a runway show, what would you call the next collection?
If my life and career were a runway show, the next chapter would definitely be called Enchanted Entropy. I have no idea what’s next at any point, but it will be dreamy and cute!!
