The Hoxton Arrives in Los Angeles
The Hoxton has just opened its doors in the dynamic downtown of Los Angeles since the end of October. A historic Broadway building nestled among LA’s oldest theatres and movie palaces. The design is a collaboration between the Ennismore Studio and Soho House.
The Hoxton has 174 rooms. Each room is cleverly designed and features chevron floors, burl wood furniture and House of Hackney prints, a little tribute to the Hoxton’s East London roots.
The hotel is surrounded by concept stores and arts galleries and features a rooftop pool and a pair of trendy new restaurants. Sibling Rival is a coffee and bar for a delicious brunch, for example, and Pilot is a restaurant on the Rooftop with Mediterranean kitchen. We advise you to have a drink at the Rooftop while enjoying the sunset.
The Hoxton offers three events for guests to experience:
- Art as Therapy W/Society and Skid Row Carnival of Love: 30thJanuary
There’s no mistaking art’s positive effect on mental health — no matter your artistic skill, social class, race or gender. The hotel organizes a discussion on the importance of art for everyone. Art therapist, Lynell Weiss, will walk through the ins and outs of this creative and healing avenue of self-expression.
The hotel will present its latest project, an online shop by Society6 as well as The Hoxton and Skid Row Carnival of Love that creates equal access to art for everyone.
- The Hoxton and St. JOHN Restaurant Present: The St. JOHN Dinner Series: 9thFebruary
St. JOHN Dinner Series taking place at The Hoxton’s North American restaurants and finally date in Los Angeles.
In celebration of their long-anticipated cookbook, The Book of St. JOHN, the team behind the acclaimed restaurant will prepare a one-night-only, five-course dinner in each city. The very best of chef Fergus Henderson’s pioneering cuisine will be showcased and wow its guests. Honoring the Hoxton’s British heritage, the collaboration is an exciting opportunity to experience one of London’s most iconic restaurants. The five-course menu will highlight stand-out dishes such as the famous Roast Bone Marrow, and the salad which Fergus Henderson claimed saved his life.
Tickets available to book Thursday, January 23rd.
- Music and the Art of Change W/4AD and Tappan Collective: 19thFebruary
In a conversation that bridges the gap between music and fine art, 4AD artists and friends will come together with Tappan artists and management to talk constructively and openly about how they wish to use art and see art create change in the face of many social and political issues of our modern times. You will follow up the conversation with music and cocktails at The Hoxton.
Tappanis an online art gallery that represents over 60 emerging fine artists globally. They seek to work with innovative creators that go against the beaten path and are looking for new ways to connect their art to the world.
