"Snoopy Presents: 12 Days of Snoopy" arrives November 13 with a beagle on a redemption mission and songs from John Legend, Laufey, Kamasi Washington and Leon Bridges.

Somewhere at the North Pole, a clipboard says Snoopy has been bad. That’s the setup for 12 Days of Snoopy, the new Peanuts holiday special that lands on Apple TV worldwide on Friday, November 13, with a festive trailer already out.

The twist is a sweet one. The Peanuts kids are on their best behavior this year. The one in trouble is the beagle. With 12 days left before Christmas, Snoopy sets out to prove he isn’t such a bad dog after all. Along the way he discovers that the season is about more than gifts, a lesson Peanuts fans have been happily absorbing for decades.

A soundtrack worth hitting repeat on

Peanuts and music have always gone together, and this special leans right in. Emmy-nominated composer Jeff Morrow scores it, and the original songs come from a lineup that reads like a festival poster.

EGOT honoree John Legend contributes “Get Ready,” produced by Raphael Saadiq. Grammy winner Kamasi Washington brings “Trying to Get There,” featuring fellow Grammy winner Leon Bridges. Laufey, also a Grammy winner, takes on the holiday standard “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” produced by Spencer Stewart. Her voice and that song sound like a natural pairing: cold evening, warm mug, lights low.

The special is inspired by Charles M. Schulz’s beloved comic strip. It’s produced by Peanuts and WildBrain, with Josh Scherba, Stephanie Betts, Logan McPherson, Paige Braddock, Chris Bracco and Mark Evestaff as executive producers.

Apple’s growing Peanuts shelf

This is the latest entry under the acclaimed “Snoopy Presents” banner, which has built a solid catalogue. Emmy-nominated entries include It’s the Small Things, Charlie Brown, Lucy’s School, To Mom (and Dad), With Love, One-of-a-Kind Marcie and Welcome Home, Franklin. For Auld Lang Syne and A Summer Musical have Annie nominations, and A Summer Musical also won a Television Critics Association Award.

Apple TV has been the home of the classic Peanuts library since 2020, and its original Peanuts collaborations began in 2018. Through an expanded partnership with WildBrain, Peanuts Worldwide and Lee Mendelson Film Productions, it is the exclusive streaming home for all things Peanuts until 2030. That includes the seasonal staples. A Charlie Brown Christmas, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown are all there, alongside It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown and Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown. A holiday marathon can start with Charlie Brown’s Christmas tree and finish with Snoopy’s attempt at a clean slate.

Dig further and there’s plenty more. The Emmy-winning documentaries Who Are You Charlie Brown? and Peanuts in Space: Secrets of Apollo 10 are on the service. So are Snoopy In Space and The Snoopy Show, both Emmy and Annie nominated. Camp Snoopy and Snoopy Presents: There’s No Place Like Home round out the family-friendly options.

A big-screen beagle is on the way

There’s more to look forward to. Apple, WildBrain and Peanuts are in production on a brand-new animated feature starring Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the rest of the gang. In it, Snoopy runs away from home, and his friends travel to the vibrant Big City to find him. It’s an emotional journey, and, per Apple, they discover that real friendship means loving each other just as they are. It’s the kind of idea Schulz’s strip has always done well: small characters, big feelings, no fuss.

Until the feature arrives, there’s a naughty-list dilemma to settle. Apple TV is available in over 170 countries and regions, for $14.99 a month with a seven-day free trial for new subscribers. So the whole household can find out on November 13 whether the beagle gets his name moved over. Put the kettle on first.
