There’s something about French beauty that has always captured our attention. Perhaps it’s the effortless approach to glamour, the confidence to wear a bold lip without overthinking the rest, or that unmistakable balance between sophistication and a little bit of rebellion. As a U.S.-based publication with deep ties to France, we’re always particularly excited when a new French brand lands on our beauty radar. Bang Bang Cosmetics is one of those discoveries.

Born in France from the vision of beauty industry veteran Jérôme Devisme, Bang Bang Cosmetics was created for a woman the brand describes as modern, urban, free and audacious—someone equally at home heading out for the evening or spending an afternoon immersed in art and culture. It’s an attitude that translates into makeup designed to marry performance with glamour rather than asking women to choose between the two.

Devisme brings more than 15 years of experience in the beauty industry to the project, surrounding himself with a team whose résumés span some of the most recognizable names in cosmetics. Formulator Richard Girousse, who has more than 20 years of experience including time at Make Up For Ever, developed the formulas; fashion makeup artist Julien Rol helped shape the brand’s visual identity; and former Estée Lauder and Bobbi Brown executive Hervé Bouvier contributes to its strategic development.

The Ingredient That Makes Bang Bang Different

At the center of the collection is an unexpected beauty ingredient: nigella oil.

Also known as black seed oil, it is incorporated into Bang Bang’s makeup formulas for its nourishing, protective and antioxidant properties. According to the brand, Girousse introduced the ingredient into the makeup collection to give the products both luxurious textures and skincare benefits.

It’s an approach we love seeing more of in beauty: makeup that isn’t simply about the final look, but considers how a product feels and performs on the skin throughout the day.

Meet the Eternal Collection

For lips, Eternal Matte delivers intense pigmentation and long wear in ten shades, with nigella oil incorporated into the formula to help leave lips feeling soft and smooth. The coordinating Eternal Pencil, also available in ten shades, doubles as both a lip and eye pencil with a creamy, waterproof formula.

For eyes, Eternal Liner comes in classic black and brown, while Eternal Mascara combines nigella oil with carnauba wax and panthenol in a formula designed to lengthen, strengthen and build volume without clumping.

Then there’s color. Eternal Shadow brings together an assortment of blendable shades, while Eternal Light, the brand’s highlighter palette, uses natural mineral powders to create luminosity across different skin types.

And we have to talk about the packaging. Rendered in gleaming gold with sculptural silhouettes and the brand’s intertwined BB monogram, the collection has the kind of presence that makes you want to leave it sitting on your vanity rather than hide it inside a makeup bag.

Bang Bang may be a French beauty discovery, but its philosophy feels decidedly international: makeup as a tool for confidence, creativity and self-expression.

From France to the U.S., consider Bang Bang Cosmetics officially on our beauty radar.
