Ryan Murphy’s horror anthology celebrated its unlucky 13th chapter with a star-studded night of gothic glamour, familiar faces and plenty of spooky surprises.
New York got a little darker last night.
FX celebrated the premiere of “American Horror Story: 13” with a red carpet that felt very on-brand for the anthology series: glamorous, mysterious, and just a little terrifying. Held in New York on September 23, the celebration brought together returning favorites, new cast members and the creative minds behind one of television’s most recognizable horror franchises.
And naturally, the night began with some of the series’ most iconic nightmares. Rubber Man, Twisty and the Hooded Druid welcomed guests to the haunted evening before the cast made their way down the carpet in full gothic glamour.
Among the arrivals were Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman, Joey Pollari, Avantika, Elle Chapman, Fedor Steer, Jamie Brewer, John Waters and Mena Suvari, alongside creator and executive producer Ryan Murphy and executive producers and writers Ned Martel and Charlie Carver.

Because what is an American Horror Story premiere without a little theatricality?
After walking the carpet, guests were captured by Cole Walliser’s “Scream Bot,” giving the evening one more appropriately eerie photo moment. It was the perfect combination of Hollywood red carpet glamour and the strange, surreal energy that has defined AHS since its debut.
And honestly, we wouldn’t expect anything less.
From the Red Carpet to The Hotel Chelsea
The celebration continued at The Hotel Chelsea, where the cast and guests traded the red carpet for cocktails, bites and music from DJ KISS.
The party brought together the worlds of fashion, entertainment and horror that have become inseparable from the American Horror Story universe. After all, few television franchises have managed to make haunted houses, witches, hotels, freak shows and apocalypses feel quite so glamorous.
Lucky Number 13
Premiering September 24 on FX and Hulu, AHS: 13 marks the franchise’s 13th installment, with 13 half-hour episodes leading up to the finale on October 29 just in time for Halloween.
Since its launch in 2011, American Horror Story has become one of FX’s defining series, earning more than 100 Emmy nominations and building a devoted global audience. Its latest chapter continues that tradition while bringing together an all-star cast, including several familiar faces from the franchise’s past.
After more than a decade of murder houses, covens, haunted hotels and apocalyptic chaos, the question now is simple:
What could possibly be scary enough for 13?
We’re about to find out.
