Frieze Los Angeles 2026 Returns to Santa Monica Airport, Reaffirming the City’s Global Cultural Influence

From February 26 through March 1, 2026, Frieze Los Angeles returns to the Santa Monica Airport for its highly anticipated seventh edition, once again transforming the iconic site into a vibrant epicenter of contemporary art, culture, and creative exchange. Now in its fourth year at the airport, the fair unfolds within a custom-designed indoor-outdoor structure that reflects Los Angeles’ open spirit—inviting collectors, artists, curators, and cultural leaders from around the world to engage with the ideas shaping contemporary art today.
As Los Angeles continues to solidify its position as one of the world’s most influential creative capitals, Frieze Los Angeles stands at the forefront of that evolution. The fair brings together more than 100 galleries from over 20 countries, showcasing a powerful cross-section of established masters, mid-career visionaries, and emerging voices redefining the global art landscape. With Deutsche Bank returning as Global Lead Partner, the fair reinforces its long-standing commitment to artistic innovation and cultural dialogue.
Christine Messineo, Director of Americas at Frieze, emphasizes the fair’s deeper significance within the city’s creative ecosystem: “Frieze Los Angeles continues to reflect the strength of a community defined by experimentation, resilience, and imagination. The fair captures the energy of a city where artists and institutions continuously shape the global cultural conversation.”
A Global Platform for Leading Galleries and Artists

The 2026 edition brings together an exceptional roster of internationally renowned galleries, including Gagosian, Hauser & Wirth, Pace Gallery, White Cube, Perrotin, David Zwirner, and Gladstone Gallery. These influential exhibitors present museum-quality works alongside ambitious new commissions, offering visitors an unparalleled opportunity to experience the forefront of contemporary artistic production.
Los Angeles’ own gallery community plays a central role in the fair, with prominent local spaces such as David Kordansky Gallery, Roberts Projects, Commonwealth and Council, and Château Shatto highlighting the city’s diverse and evolving artistic identity. Their presence underscores LA’s unique position as both a creative incubator and a global cultural force.
This year also welcomes a dynamic group of first-time participants, including El Apartamento, Cardi Gallery, and Fort Gansevoort, alongside returning international galleries from Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa—reflecting the increasingly interconnected nature of today’s art world.
Focus: Championing the Next Generation of Artists

A highlight of Frieze Los Angeles remains its celebrated Focus section, curated once again by Essence Harden. Dedicated to galleries operating for twelve years or less, Focus provides a critical platform for emerging artists whose work pushes boundaries and introduces new perspectives into the contemporary art conversation.
Supported by Stone Island, this section reflects Frieze’s ongoing commitment to nurturing the next generation of artistic talent. Solo presentations by galleries such as Company Gallery, Make Room, and Hannah Traore Gallery offer visitors an intimate encounter with rising artists exploring themes of identity, memory, migration, and cultural transformation.
A Citywide Celebration of Art and Culture

Beyond the fairgrounds, Frieze Week activates the entire city through a rich program of museum exhibitions, gallery openings, and cultural events. Major institutions including MOCA, The Broad, the Getty Center, LACMA, and the Hammer Museum will present landmark exhibitions, offering visitors a comprehensive view of Los Angeles’ dynamic creative landscape.
Nonprofit collaborations and public installations organized by Art Production Fund further extend Frieze’s reach into the community, reinforcing the fair’s commitment to accessibility and public engagement.
Initiatives such as the Deutsche Bank Frieze Los Angeles Film Award and the Frieze Impact Prize continue to support emerging filmmakers, artists, and curators, highlighting Frieze’s role not only as a marketplace but as a catalyst for cultural development and opportunity.
Where Art, Culture, and Community Converge

More than an art fair, Frieze Los Angeles has become a defining cultural moment for the city, one that reflects its diversity, creative ambition, and global influence. By bringing together leading galleries, emerging artists, collectors, and cultural innovators, the fair creates a space where ideas are exchanged, careers are launched, and the future of contemporary art takes shape.
As Los Angeles continues to expand its cultural footprint worldwide, Frieze Los Angeles 2026 stands as a powerful testament to the city’s enduring role as a global center for artistic excellence, experimentation, and connection.
