Zulay Henao: A Legacy of Strength, Authenticity, and Empowerment

In a world that often seeks to define women by limitations rather than possibilities, Zulay Henao is rewriting the narrative with resilience, purpose, and an unshakable commitment to uplifting others. Actress, entrepreneur, and visionary, she is more than just a storyteller on screen—she is a change-maker in real life, creating spaces where Latina voices are amplified, their truths embraced, and their dreams realized.

From championing female entrepreneurship with raw honesty to fostering a community where Latinas can celebrate both their strengths and scars, Zulay stands at the forefront of a movement that is as bold as it is necessary. Through her work with Modern Muze, she isn’t just offering a seat at the table—she’s building a new one, where vulnerability is power, imperfections are beauty, and success is redefined on one’s own terms.

For Zulay, legacy isn’t just about personal success—it’s about paving the way for future generations, including her daughter, to step into their own greatness without apology. Her journey is one of courage, conviction, and the unwavering belief that together, women can shift industries, break cycles, and create a future where every dream is within reach.

In this Creative Minds feature, Zulay shares her wisdom on resilience, the realities of entrepreneurship, and the importance of owning one’s full story. This is not just an interview—it’s a call to action for all women daring to dream beyond limits.

Embracing your role as your own champion and steadfastly believing in your vision, you must cultivate a supportive network of like-minded women who share your passion for turning their aspirations into reality. How can we uplift and guide each other as we blaze a trail, collectively forging a groundbreaking industry that commands recognition and admiration?

Uplifting each other starts with showing up authentically, celebrating wins—big or small—and being unafraid to share lessons from setbacks. By creating spaces to exchange knowledge and amplify one another’s voices, we can collectively reshape industries and demand the recognition we deserve. Together, we are unstoppable.

To avoid “pink-washing” the life of an entrepreneur, what real talk can you offer women who dream of venturing out on their own, looking beyond the allure of ‘#bosslady’ hashtags to the tangible tools and mindset needed for success?

Entrepreneurship is exhilarating, but it’s also gritty, and sometimes unglamorous work. You need a good dose of resilience, a clear purpose, and a willingness to evolve. Surround yourself with people who believe in your vision, learn to em- brace discomfort, and never stop investing in your personal growth. You must find ways to keep the passion through hard times, and have the discipline to follow through.

Creating a welcoming place where Latinas can honestly discuss their sexuality, their emotions, and their traumas, as well as a !cycle of healing” is not only needed, it’s essential, how does Modern Muze lead by example when harvesting a safe space of belonging and embracing the beauty of all of our broken pieces and flaws and stepping into them with conviction rather than filtering them out?

Modern Muze leads by embracing vulnerability as power. Through honest conversations, uplifting content, and spaces designed for connection, we encourage Latinas to own their full stories, become their own muze and embrace their joys and scars alike. We celebrate individuality and healing because our flaws don”t make us weaker; they make us human.

What is the legacy you hope to leave for your daughter?

For my daughter, I hope to leave a legacy of courage and authenticity. I want her to know that she can build her dreams unapologetically, stand tall in her truth, and inspire others simply by being herself. My work, building this brand, is for her and for the generations of Latinas who will follow.
